Over the past 4 years, I have had the pleasure to work with Lauren Corkin. She initially helped me and my family find a rental home when we transferred from North Carolina to Newton, MA. From that point on, she has been way more than a realtor. She has patiently worked with me, a single mom of 2 little girls, to find an affordable home to buy in Newton, MA. At times, it felt like an impossible task but she always stayed positive and encouraged me to keep trying. I started to feel guilty that I was taking up too much of her time for something that would never happen because of the high cost of homes. She NEVER made me feel like I was a burden. Instead she became a great friend that was helping me on the most important and difficult purchase of my life. Lauren said that helping people like me find an affordable home in town was more rewarding to her and she would continue on until I was ready to stop.
After 4 years and multiple rejected offers, I called Lauren up to tell her that I was going to swing by an open house and I would let her know if I wanted to make an offer. I left the open house loving the home. I told Lauren, this is the last offer I write in Newton and I am moving on.
Lauren helped me draft a compelling and not very traditional offer. She presented it to the Sellers realtor and shortly after we found out they selected my offer.
Lauren’s patience, compassion and professionalism, are the reasons I found an affordable home for my family in this amazing town. I really appreciate how Lauren treated me like my purchase was as important as the $5M sale. It was probably the hardest commission check she ever worked for but I it meant the world to my family. She is truly amazing at her job and a wonderful person that I am grateful to call a friend.
